FAQ

Q.  Is a deposit required?

A.  Yes, a deposit of $50 reserves a portrait session.  Wedding and special events require a deposit of 50% of the package price.  Deposits are non-refundable unless the session or event is cancelled due to adverse weather.

Q.  When are portrait sessions scheduled?

A. Portrait sessions are generally scheduled on weekends.  The best light is usually available in the early morning or about an hour before sunset.  Sunlight during midday to evening hours is very harsh and causes problems with squinting.

Q.  What should we wear for family portraits?

A.  Wear comfortable clothing without logos or stripes.  Family members do not have to wear the same color clothing, but the colors shouldn't clash.  Adults can wear one color and children a different, complimentary color.  Jeans or khakis usually work best for pants/shorts.  You can wear white tops without affecting the coloring too badly, just try to avoid wearing all white as it distracts the eye from the focus of the photograph.  Bring mulitple wardobes and props if you aren't sure what will look best.

Q.  What kind of style do you shoot?

A.  I prefer a comfortable and relaxed setting.  The best family portraits aren't necessarily the ones where everyone is smiling and staring at the camera.  I usually shoot while the family is interacting in between poses because the kids and parents are relaxed.  Those are often the best shots of the session.

Q.  What should I wear for my senior portraits?

A.  The short answer is just about anything you like.  Wardrobe changes allow for a variety of photos and poses.  Props are welcome too!  Senior portraits allow you to show off your personality and be creative.

Q.  When will I be able to see my photographs?

A.  Most proof sets for portrait sessions are available in approx. one week from the session.  Each photograph is scrutinized for proper exposure, coloring and any imperfections are corrected during post processing.  The proofs are then uploaded to a password protected gallery where you will be able to view them.  You select the ones you want printed and send the order via email or by phone.  All proof photos are provided on a disc with a copyright release after the order is placed and the balance due is paid.  Proofs for a wedding may take up to two weeks for processing.

Q.  What types of payment are accepted?

A.  We accept cash, check and credit cards (via Paypal).  Paypal is a secure way to pay by credit card.  Payment in full is due prior to the session/event.
